I don't have last year's numbers right off the bat but this quarter thus far I paid around $350 in paypal/googlecheckout fees.
Yes, those fees really add up... but I would gladly pay this without having to get a credit card terminal to process payments myself AND/OR risk getting checks that bounce (then we''re talking about some serious check bouncing fees that those aren't good for anybody.)

Those fees should be included as part of your final product/ service charge and therefore passed onto the client to pay. So really it does not matter how many there or how much they are are because if is not you who is paying them.
